Honors Student | Cellular and Molecular Biology
I’m a multidisciplinary scholar working at the intersection of biological science, music, and research. My work focuses on translating complex biological systems into forms that are both analytically rigorous and perceptually meaningful—bridging scientific insight with human-centered communication.
Get to know my background
I’m a student and early-career professional with training in biological sciences and music, focused on interdisciplinary research and creative inquiry. My academic work is grounded in scientific rigor, while my musical background informs how I think about structure, pattern, and communication across complex systems.
I’m especially drawn to projects that live between disciplines, where analytical precision meets thoughtful design and artistic intent. Whether working in research, creative production, or professional settings, I aim to translate complex ideas into work that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to diverse audiences.
I’m motivated by curiosity, long-term impact, and continual growth, and I value environments that encourage depth, collaboration, and originality. I approach my work with intention and adaptability, bringing both discipline and creativity to every project I take on.
My studies in biology focus on cellular and molecular systems, with an emphasis on understanding complex biological processes through rigorous scientific inquiry. I’m particularly interested in how biological data can be analyzed, interpreted, and communicated across research and interdisciplinary contexts.
In music, I study performance, theory, and historical context, developing both technical proficiency and artistic interpretation. My training emphasizes disciplined practice, musical analysis, and expressive communication, informing how I approach structure, creativity, and collaboration in my work.
My chemistry coursework provides a strong foundation in chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and quantitative reasoning. Through hands-on experimentation and analysis, I develop the skills necessary to understand and apply chemical concepts within biological and research-driven environments.
My Spanish studies center on advanced language proficiency, cultural literacy, and effective communication. I focus on developing fluency across academic, professional, and conversational contexts, with attention to cultural nuance and global perspectives.
Selected projects and professional experience
This VIP project investigates how eosinophil glycocalyx data can be transformed into structured musical compositions to explore immune-related patterns through sound. The project focuses on mapping glycan features—such as monosaccharide composition, linkage type, branching, and modification patterns—onto musical parameters including melody, harmony, rhythm, timbre, and texture. By doing so, the work investigates whether disease-associated changes in eosinophils, particularly in Eosinophilic Esophagitis, produce distinct and perceptible musical signatures.
Beyond its artistic dimension, this project serves as a novel framework for data interpretation and science communication. Musical representations may allow listeners to intuitively detect differences between healthy and diseased immune states, offering an alternative modality for understanding complex biological data. The long-term goal is to develop a reproducible, extensible sonification system that bridges molecular-scale biology with human perception, while also contributing to accessibility, interdisciplinary research, and creative scientific outreach.

Performances, compositions, and musical projects
Jacques Ibert’s Pièce carries a quiet, mournful character beneath its refined surface, unfolding with a restrained lyricism that feels introspective and aching. Its subtle harmonic shifts and delicate phrasing give the flute a voice that is tender, searching, and quietly expressive rather than overtly virtuosic.
Georges Enesco’s Cantabile et Presto is a virtuosic and emotionally charged piece that juxtaposes lyrical passages with rapid, technical passages. The work showcases the flute's ability to convey both tenderness and brilliance, requiring a high level of technical precision and musical expression.
The fourth movement of Charles-Marie Widor’s Suite for flute and piano is light and buoyant, marked by playful rhythms and sparkling articulation that highlight the flute’s agility. Its cheerful, dance-like character and transparent textures bring the suite to a bright, effervescent close.
